How to Achieve Slow, Effortless, Permanent Weight Loss
In this post I share my fresh perspective on slow, effortless, permanent weight loss – one that is rooted in selflove. Before adopting this lifestyle, I spent 2 decades punishing my body through dieting, restriction, bulimia and starvation. I was on SlimFast by age 9, used Fen-Phen in high school, and starved myself all through my 20s. It may be important to note that I was maybe 5-10 pounds overweight while embarking on my first diet at age 9, but morbidly obese when the dieting finally ended in 2010. The 3 Phases of Jennylyn’s Intuitive Eating Lifestyle
#1 The weight-gain phase. We let go of all diets, calorie-counting, and food-group-elimination. Other than foods you are blatantly allergic to, you are free to eat anything you want, anytime you want. Expect to feel hungry, craving all the things you once deprived yourself of. It is normal to crave mostly forbidden junk foods in phase 1. Weight gain happens as a form of healing for the body, after years of deprivation and stress. Your body will put on as much weight as it needs to, to reset your metabolism, thyroid, hormones, cravings and appetite. If you’ve dieted lightly, you will gain lightly. If you’ve dieted hard, expect steady, real weight gain. For me, it was 90 pounds over a period of 6 years. For most women, it will be much, much less. In phase 1 you are openhearted to the idea of LOVING your body – as is.
#2 Weight-maintenance and set-point. You have now become a weight-stable machine. You can pig-out at the buffet and wake up the next day – unaffected. Your body is processing everything you eat, and digestion is speeding up. You feel a sense of ease around food, because you now live in abundance. In phase 2, weight gain stalls, appetite slows, food addictions wane and healthy foods appear more appealing. You feel a sense of balance and equilibrium in the body, which you never thought possible. You know you are being healed. In phase 2 you are beginning to LOVE your body – as is.
#3 The effortless weight-release phase. Suddenly, you notice you have forgotten to eat your latest meal. You desire small portions. You want the freshest quality ingredients, and you want to savor each bite. Your day feels balanced with a variety of foods. You can take or leave any food that felt like an addiction in the past. Chocolate, sugar and bread are delightful – not enslaving. You opt for the small Starbucks, rather than the large – and you forget to order a treat with it. You begin to eat and live like a naturally skinny chic – effortlessly. From the space of cherishing yourself and listening to your body, your body begins to morph and change. For some it’s a small change, for others is a 100 pound weight release. You have finally manifested the body of your dreams. In phrase 3 you are IN LOVE with your body, and consider it your personal ideal.
Slow, Effortless, Permanent Weight Loss Is The Only Real Solution
My 3-phase method cracks the code on weight loss, but it isn’t a quick-fix for becoming thin. Nor are all of us meant to be thin. Remember, big is healthy and beautiful, too. Health is a lifestyle – not a size. What we are all meant to be is: healthy, happy and diet-free.
This journey takes patience, courage and selflove – changing your entire perspective on your body. As you embrace your figure with lovingkindness, your body heals and metamorphosizes into its healthiest and most beautiful state – which may be different that you originally imagined. So stay open-minded. Most importantly, intuitive eating heals your relationship with food and your body. And I think that’s more than worth the journey.

How do you conquer a lifelong chocolate #addiction? I’ll tell you how I did it. You flow with it, rather than against it, because what u resist, persists. Once I let myself have #chocolate whenever I desired, I began to feel less obsessed. And now, after practicing the law of nonresistance for a few years, I see chocolate as no different than anything else – something #decadent to be enjoyed on occasion. I can have 1 or 2 cookies and move on in peace. My method works! Try just letting go and allowing yourself to SLOWLY (not overnight my loves) but surely go from overindulgence to effortless moderation.
