How To NOT Feel Used, Exhausted and Depleted
Hello loves. Today’s blog post is an #inspiremejennylyn episode – where we will discuss how to end the vicious cycle of constantly feeling used, exhausted and depleted. It’s a surefire way to drive ourselves right into brokenness, illness and emotional pain. Instead, let’s dive into the art of feminine selflove and quality pampering – in order to look, feel and be our best self.
In order to not feel used, exhausted & depleted, selfcare is absolutely essential. You must put your own needs at the top of your list – before you can care for anyone, or anything, else. Stop draining yourself dry in your work, church and relationships. And yes, I said church. Your emotional, physical, and spiritual health come first.
#1 Selfcare is pivotal to sustaining a life worth living. Last week I felt completely exhausted and depleted – like a shell of myself. I felt less glowing, less beautiful and vivacious, and I wanted to close myself off from the world. I suddenly realized that so many of my own needs have not been met, and that I genuinely wanted to make a definite decision to put myself first. Selfcare is not a luxury, it’s a necessity, in order to keep us thriving and able to serve on this planet. A simple pedicure or massage can make all the difference in making us feel beautiful and cherished.
#2 Bighearted women tend put themselves last. Women with hearts geared toward serving and loving others often put everyone else’s needs before their own. Probably more like 99% of the time. We are taught, from a young age, that to put oneself first is selfish and unladylike. But you cannot serve others when you’re running on empty. You must first be served in order to have something to give. Seriously ask yourself, “How many things did I skip today that I really wanted and needed?” We must grant ourselves permission to openly state what we need for the health of our whole being.
#3 There is inspiration in sadness, sorrow and mourning. I’m attracted to minimalism because it reflects my preference for a simple, uncluttered lifestyle. I’ve realized, however, that tied to this attraction to minimalism is the guilt and fear I feel towards spending money on the things I want. These fears are deeply rooted in my childhood – where my father gambled away his living and my mother pinched pennies to the extreme. Admitting that I’ve denied myself vital selfcare brings up very painful emotions, but there is healing and joy in allowing myself to feel this depletion. I then feel free to grant myself the needs and desires I possess. I show my vulnerability to you, in hopes that you will be inspired by my pain, as well.
#4 Deep down, you know you’re worth it. So many of us have selfworth problems. Our surfacelevel beliefs involve a lot of selfloathing: we’re too fat, not pretty enough, not smart enough – the list goes on and on. For years, I didn’t spend money on things I wanted, because I felt I wasn’t worthy. But that really wasn’t a DEEP DOWN reality for me. Deep down, I knew I was unique, special, gifted and totally worthy of every luxury life has to offer. The sadness came when I lived a conflicted life of deprivation, instead of the abundance I knew God had for me. So I encourage you to search beyond the surface, and then beyond even the mediocre pain – and to look deep down. Deep down, I know you believe God is abundance, love and beauty. And deep down, I know you believe you are, too. You and I deserve the best life has to offer, because we are children of God.
Overcoming Feeling Used, Exhausted & Depleted
Are you trying to start a business and need tools to help you succeed? A gym membership to help you feel well? A new dress so you’ll feel fabulous on that first date? Start giving yourself permission to voice your needs, while being utterly kind to yourself. Make a decision each day to receive abundantly from God, to ask for and accept help, and to say no to anything that doesn’t “feel right” within your soul. Be ready to give abundantly to whatever does.

My IG Life:
Today I feel: #depleted. Ive given life my all for 37 years, and still feel empty. Somehow I feel used by life, people and things. I cried today thinking of all of the #needs I have – that have gone so completely unmet. Needs for understanding, support from mentors, beautiful things, enriching friendships, undivided attention, help with my work, and so much more. Ive needed a pedicure and haircut for a while, too. Ive neglected myself so deeply. When in the world did my self-worth fall so low? This shit gonna change. From now on – my cup gets filled first. #justwatchme ❤️ #curvy #curves #curvaceous #plussizemodel #plussizeasian #asianmodel #koreanmodel #bodyconfidence #beautiful #innerbeauty #feminine #bodylove #jennylynchung #youtuber #blogger #podcaster #curvybabe #singer #musician #vocalist #artist #creative
Spent the day #pampering and #lovingmyself. Bought myself these #flowers, got a pedicure, did yoga, ate chocolate and read magazines. I was so depleted yesterday, and realized it had been a long time since I took care of me. If u are a woman with a big heart, u very well may have the same issue: meeting everyone else’s #needs first – feeling like a broken-down shell of your true self. Yesterday, I made a decision in my #heart to meet my own needs, to open my heart to more help from loved ones, to more graciously receiving blessings from #God. I have big plans of helping others with my 1 life – I’ve got to fill my cup first in order to carry out my #purposes. I now feel more ready to #shine and #glow and give #joyfully to the world. PS.
